This is very possibly one of the best photos I've seen on dA. The way everything leads towards the centre really captivates my eye. The dynamic range and detail are amazing, and the power is just irrefutable.

beautiful, I also wonder how this would look in color. The lines and all the components do work well in black and white though

I saw the thumbnail and yea...that sky is nuts. Great work w/ the conversion. Would say that the moon gets lost here and seems like a dusk speck. Might try shooting the moon around 70mm and blending it back in at it's 'normal' size in post. Also try and keep max vert size to 700 as i have to shrink my screen to fit this in! :-P

The shot itself...banger!

Love the close foreground perspective. Also like how everything seems to pop from the center of the frame.
Another brilliant piece of work Ian.

Nice leading lines. :) I find it interesting how the moon can look so large in the sky to the naked eye, yet look so small in a print.

Especially when using a super wide 14mm lens! The moon tends to get lost with such a wide perspecive. Perhaps I should consider duping in a moon shot with a longer lens . . .

lol! Yeah, I know the feeling. My widest is only 17mm, but the moon never seems to be much more than a little blip in my shots. Maybe you could hold up a magnifying glass in your shot to enlarge the moon for your viewers. lol!
