Very cool. Though I feel that the ss is inbetween as the stars are not still nor moving enough as to appear like blur. Was this about 60s? Great job w/ the painting

Ian, I live real close to here and am going to try some night shots real soon - I'm wondering what kind of light you use on those rocks. Any particular setup? Do you just flash it real quick any time during the exposure?

Wonderful shot by the way, the Nevada desert has such a vast and empty feel.

For this shot I used my headlamp with a red filter on it, gave it a few seconds of light. I usually try a few short test exposures to work out my light painting timing before beginning a long exposure. Good luck!
