Ian, I live real close to here and am going to try some night shots real soon - I'm wondering what kind of light you use on those rocks. Any particular setup? Do you just flash it real quick any time during the exposure?
Wonderful shot by the way, the Nevada desert has such a vast and empty feel.
For this shot I used my headlamp with a red filter on it, gave it a few seconds of light. I usually try a few short test exposures to work out my light painting timing before beginning a long exposure. Good luck!
your whole work is amazing! I read your interview in last Outdoor Photographer. well deserved attention. I enjoyed reading your insight on how could/should landscape photography look/develope like in nearest future.
