Emergence by Ian-Plant Emergence by Ian-Plant
Something stirs in the depths, yearning for release from its watery prison. A demon escaping from a gateway to Hell? An alien presence emerging from a portal to a distant universe? Or a creature that time forgot, awakening from a millenium of slumber to slake its thirst for blood? You decide . . .

Looks like the water got frozen while swirling around a rock in the stream.  I love the ethereal-ity  of the shot.

from the thumbnail it reminds me of a strange yin-yang sort of thing ...
but after viewing it in a larger size , and reading your comment , I'd have to say
that it's a gateway to hell or some sort of sea creature .. if you look at the swirl
of the water, and the way the camera captured it , there is a white head
with two clear eyes , a hand close by the face and a curved leg just below the hand ..
or maybe I am just letting my imagination run wild :giggle:

I love the lighting. The foreground subject is intriguing, but I feel drawn to the tunnel where the light is showing.

Awesome shot, great interpretation of this scene. Can't wait to shoot the Subway myself. What time of day was this taken?

Really enjoy the symmetry formed by the objects in the eddy pool and the canyon walls. Great colors and dream like view. Nice job!

i love this shot. not only for the great colour contrast, nor simply because of the play of light. (though of course both would be enough to make me like this shot) No, what I really dig about this is the roundness of it all. the pool, the tunnel, it al just supplements each other, without interfering.

not only a stunning photo, but a poetic description as well. :)

I like the contrast between the colors and the texture of fore- and background. very nice.

I love the subway, but have yet to shoot it. Did you wait 6 months to be able to get in, or wake up early and try to get a pass?
